With winter fast approaching we were like to remind everyone to make sure they regularly service their gas appliance ie: Ducted/ wall and space heaters along with gas stoves and oven. This will help in the prevention of gas leaks and personal injury.
Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) have started an advertising capaign to help with public awarness of this.
ESV is airing an extensive television ans radio advertising campaign to encourage all home owner, lanlords and occupiers with natural gas or LPG applainces to have then regularly serviced by a licenced or registered gas fitter. Over recent years ESV have identified that many domestic gas consumers are not having their gas appliances serviced. This lack of servicing has contributed to a number of gas related fatalities and an even greater number of carbon monoxide (CO) related incidents, resulting in medical attention and in some cases hospitalisation.
